We Approach An Individual’s Concern From The Perspective Of The Whole Person

Integrative Health: Mind And Body.

Mind and Body are like two sides of a coin. At MindBody Health we provide psychotherapy that treats anxiety, depression, pain and fatigue, as well as issues concerning identity, relationship, work, grief, resilience, and spirituality.

At The Core Of Our Approach Is The Individual’s Need To Be Listened To And Understood.

The therapeutic relationship builds from that basis of understanding, and the therapist guides an individual along a pathway through a new territory of insight, self-understanding and skills.

AREAS OF FOCUS

Psychotherapy for Depression and Anxiety

Getting stuck in anxiety or depression calls for more than caring & support. Finding the sources of these disorders and addressing the related thoughts/emotions, provides relief and frees up our potential for a meaningful life.

MindBody Coping with Illness

Illness brings suffering and limitation to the mind, as well as the body. And the mind’s response affects the body’s experience. In fact, the mind and body are a single continuum. We help the person cope and adapt, and then become involved in their own healing.

Integrative Pain Management

Prescription pain medications can be highly effective in a limited scope, but are addictive. Research has demonstrated the efficacy of psychological interventions, and the importance of an integrative approach. We tailor these to the individual, and supervise successful treatment

Meditation Training

Meditation provides profound relief from the noise in our head, increases self-acceptance and improves health. To establish regular and ongoing practice does require adequate training, however. Learn meditation from an expert.

Work and Career Counseling

Workplace stress has become more common, making work/life balance more difficult. Changing jobs and careers may be chosen or required. Dual career couples face additional challenges, and retirement has become more complex. With specific training in these areas, we can help you identify and make choices, develop new perspectives and skills, and find satisfying solutions.

Psychotherapy for Grief and Trauma

Loss is a part of and when we lose someone or something dear to us, grief can become a struggle. Many of us are also trying to integrate traumatic experiences. Supportive therapy can lead us toward acceptance and healing.

SERVICES

Telehealth

As the Covid pandemic has required alterations in how we go about life, telehealth has demonstrated certain advantages in how psychotherapy is conducted. Eliminating commuting has made regular psychotherapy appointments for more convenient. And some people find It easier to fit appointments into their day.

At the Center for MindBody Health, we are committed to protecting a client’s privacy as well as making the remote connection as smooth as possible. Sessions and all messaging with the therapist is encrypted, and appointments can be made on our website calendar. Psychotherapy conducted virtually does not preclude shifting to in-person appointments.

Individual Psychotherapy

While psychotherapy has been referred to as “talk therapy”, it also includes the essential ingredients of curiosity, reflecting and understanding. Embarking on a therapy journey is an investment in oneself, with therapy a collaboration of two experts. The client’s expertise entails their thoughts, feelings, and behavior, as well as their confusion, suffering and strengths. The therapist facilitates the client’s exploration and change, bringing their expertise in the human mind, the mindbody connection, and processes of learning and growth.

Workshops

Learning can occur in many ways. In CMBH workshops, in addition to the information provided by the teacher, practice opportunities and small group discussions bring experiential learning. The goal of these workshops is for an individual to learn about themselves, as well as about the topic.
